Portugal Second Rehearsal
I can't help but wonder if Portugal arrived to Gliwice having not done their homework and so instead have borrowed elements of everyone else's performance to create theirs.

The giant words (and little else) on the screen a la Malta. The environmental message a la Poland. The glitter on the face. The disjointed music and lyric. The off-cuts of everyone else's costume. Perhaps Portugal have taken the message of #ShareTheJoy a little too literally this year. One thing to be said for Joana Almeida, she certainly seems to be enjoying herself performing Vem Comigo (Come With Me).
Perhaps the apparent lack of effort is why Portugal have never faired better than 14th in this contest. It will be the country's 5th outing, with a 10-year gap between 2007 and 2017.
David Webster will be reporting live from rehearsals throughout the day on Gateway 97.8 (www.gateway978.com). For UK commentary with ESC Insight's Ewan Spence and Ben Robertson, tune in to Castlepoint FM on Sunday 24th November from 15:00 GMT.
